It sounds like there was a while where they were just out in the Prism normally like the rest of us, though. I wonder what happened that they had to go and hide.
I think that could be the case. They seem to know a lot...though I don't know if our Residents have the ability to recognize them or not. I think their memories have been altered.

For a moment, Shale's face changed to...something else. It was after I gave them an item I had found when I was somewhere else. Not really human, but...their face had features.
Ugh. Yeah, let's...let's hope we figure out how to stop it before it gets worse. I do not want to be turning into wax. Or stone. Or static, or whatever any of the other residents are.

The Prism is pretty vigilant, so...if Dreamer popped their head out, probably wouldn't end well for them.
